St Patrick’s College, Silverstream is passionate about growing our rugby playing students both as young men and rugby players during their time at our school.
Our key focus is to deliver great rugby experiences by creating team environments where the players have fun, achieve their aspirations, there is a sense of belonging, and they feel safe.
We are seeking a head coach to coach and lead the 1st XV team, on and off the field, in a way that aligns to the school’s values and sports vision.
Our 1st XV play in the College Sport Wellington Premier grade competition, as well as playing annual traditional fixtures against schools from outside our region.

College Sport Wellington promotes, facilitates, coordinates and delivers sporting opportunities and initiatives to the 41 secondary schools in the greater Wellington region. We are the Wellington arm of a national network of offices engaged with secondary school sport and are partnered in our endeavours by Sport NZ, Nuku Ora, School Sport NZ, regional and national sports organisations, individual school Heads of Sport and ultimately, are responsible to the Principals of our member schools. We operate out of the Nuku Ora offices on Thorndon Quay.
Our core business is focussed on maximising the sporting opportunities available to students in secondary schools and supporting schools and regional sports organisations to achieve this. Much of the business is centred around seasonal interschool competition and providing support to those working within the secondary school community.
As one of four Sport Managers, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of sports. This portfolio will be determined based on the relevant skills, experience and interests of the successful candidate. In addition, and working in coordination with the rest of the team, you will also be responsible for developing and leading our diversity and inclusion strategy. This strategy will ensure that College Sport Wellington’s offerings are inclusive of all secondary school students and that they have access to quality school sport experiences.
